fellow motorcycle riding enthusiasts (The
Water Buffalos), on the motorcycle ride to end all rides and be part
of something very special. The ride begins from several locations across
the US and Canada and descends on Atlanta in time for the AWWA
National Conference in June 2008, all in the spirit of raising money
and awareness for Water
For People. We had an incredible inaugural ride to the AWWA 2006 convention in San Antonio. Great roads, wonderful scenery, and many new found friendships. All the while raising nearly $20,000 in donations! The 2nd annual ride to Toronto in 2007 was even better and we raised approximately $42,000. Atlanta promises to be the best yet. I have been asked several times, “Why are we doing this?” Here is my easy answer: To participate in the ride, each rider is asked to raise a minimum of $1.00 per mile traveled (either 1-way or round trip, we are looking into shipping discounts), and donate it to Water for People. I expect that each rider will average well over 1,000 miles. Just imagine 50 riders handing over a check for $50k to Water For People. The great cause makes the ride very, very special. Just imagine yourself rumbling in with the group, en masse, into Atlanta Saturday afternoon, with all of us wearing water blue denim vests with a stitched Water Buffalo State/Province Chapter patch on the back. The buzz around the conference will never be the same! |

When you register you will receive a member number patch that will be yours for life, never to be re-issued. You can wear it proudly with each ensuing ride. Check the links for other cool stuff and for routing info. |
