2024 GA WFP -  RWP BBQ COOKOFF COMPETITION

2024 BBQ Cookoff Competition - SAVANNAH, GEORGIA

The Georgia BBQ Committee is excited to partner with Ride with Purpose: "The Water Buffalos" to host another annual BBQ Cookoff Competition to raise money for Water for People and Community Engineering Corps supporting their efforts to provide drinking water and wastewater services to communities in need.

 

This year’s event turns a BBQ competition into an outdoor festival starting Saturday evening with a cornhole tournament, music, and fellowship while the teams work hard preparing their BBQ entries. Although this means no BBQ on Saturday, it’s a great chance to meet the master grillers.

 

On Sunday afternoon - beginning at noon (12 pm) the BBQ Competition is open for tasting with Awards for the Best BBQ to follow at 5 pm. Some teams will also be providing a side dish. 

The BBQ Cookoff Competition festivities will take place in Bryan Square between the Convention and Trade Center and the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort and Spa on Hutchinson Island. Guests are invited to arrive after 5 pm on Saturday and stay with us the entire weekend!

BECOME AN EVENT SPONSOR

 

Does your organization want to support the event, but are not interested in submitting to a competition team? Have you considered becoming an Official Event Sponsor?

Official Event Sponsors who donate $750 will receive the following:

  • Logo will be displayed the entire weekend of the event,

  • Logo/business name promoted as an event sponsor on all promotional emails distributed to all GAWWA members and the event website.

  • Company name printed on committee T-shirts and

  • The sincere appreciation from the Water for People, Community Engineering Corps, Georgia BBQ Committee, AWWA, and the Water Buffalos.

Entry Fee: $600.00

Entry Fee Covers: Cooking space, ground covering and competition entry. Any funds remaining from team fees will be used to cover cooking competition costs. 

Note: Competition amenities are consistent with previous years and outlined in the 2024 BBQ Cookoff Competition Rules and Regulations document.  Please read the updated rules carefully and make sure to download a copy for your records.

All entry fees MUST be paid in full by June 12, 2024, or you will NOT be permitted to compete.

There will be a mandatory Team meeting on Thursday, June 20 at 2 pm to finalize team location, rules, etc.
